The train station in Brasov

I'm lucky. Although I have reserved this time as one of two sleeping compartments, since nothing else was to get more, but not the second coming. I must not climb to the second floor. Is probably because so slowly that the air traffic gets going again. Moreover, although the cabin about the same size as the previous day, although somewhat differently divided. This results in a small niche where I can store my luggage. It hangs like Damocles sword that is now not about me and is not constantly in the way. It goes east toward Debrecen. Against 23 clock we reached the Romanian border. About an hour, we stand on the Hungarian side, has come to the border control through the entire train. Then it's about another 5 minutes and the same game on the Romanian side once again.

Sometime I go then sleep. When I wake up, it goes through mountainous terrain. We are in the vicinity of Sibiu (Sibiu) towards Brasov (Kronstadt) in Transylvania. I'm having breakfast. In the night train there, as earlier in the night, a complimentary breakfast. The day before that was a wrapped croissant, tea or coffee and a waffle. That in itself was not great, but here it is exceeded. Lukewarm coffee, with a choice of wrapped sandwiches or scrambled eggs with sauerkraut as a side dish. The scrambled egg was least prepared fresh. These two Flaccid baloney slices of white bread. We reach Brasov, incidentally the birthplace of Peter Alexander Makkay, better known as Peter Maffay. From here it passes through the Carpathians in the pace slow train south to Sinaia. It is now going on ten. After another 30 minutes after the Bucharest Plan. I have no idea how far it is, but we drive parallel to a highway and a sign I can see that there are still about 100 km from Bucharest. From the high-speed, I think, that it take about 3 hours. Shortly thereafter, the rumor gets around that we will only arrive after 13:00 clock in Bucharest. I was so very good with my estimate.

Against 13:15 we reached Bucharest. The connecting train to Istanbul is now left an hour ago. Okay, I need not bother, since I fly from here to (hopefully). I get even with that it has taken a lot of passengers who apparently are in the same way as I was. You have asked how they come to Istanbul. Unfortunately, there's only one connection again the next day. I'm hungry and get me something to eat. The station is, contrary to my expectations, in much better shape than in Budapest. There are also numerous shops and restaurants. Well, not really eat, but McDonald's, KFC and the likes are represented. Better than nothing. Unfortunately I can not find a luggage storage. One stroll through the city is not in question, so I guess around 15:00 clock the train to the airport.

Der Bahnhof "Flughafen"
The station "Airport"

The station "Airport" somewhere in the middle of the countryside. "International Airport" I'm me somehow differently. There is not even a paved road in the vicinity. On the horizon you can see a plane start. At the end of a small foot path there is a place on the gravel, a small bus waiting. Which will bring us to the airport. Unfortunately it is too small for the number of passengers in it, but I'm lucky I am.

The airport is a new building. However, here is the "infrastructure" rather modest. There are two cafes, also here no luggage storage and a lot of otherwise hard wire chairs where you can wait for his flight. It is briefly against 16 clock and my flight before midnight. Even the attempt to get rid of the baggage at the check in fails. This is only two hours before departure. So I spend my time so long in one of the cafes. 20:00 comes on against hunger. But even here there's only Flaccid baloney sandwiches. What can you do. Hunger's pure forces.

The flight time is around 1:30 am and clock at the airport in Cairo. It is the worst experience I've done a long time. Endless queues at the border crossing. It takes almost an hour until I leave the airport. Then the information that my hotel is located in Giza. Well I already knew. The driver tells me that this is about 30 km across the city. That means under the local conditions, a travel time of almost 2 hours. Even in the middle of the night. We do it in about 1.5 hours after a shower and I fall into bed.
