Orient Express Part 1
Then it went Tuesday night to drive away. Section One is to go from Berlin to Budapest. Start at the main station. It says the plan. So I'm at the station on time. The track is then: € eight to Budapest. As the departure time is then ran comes the announcement: "-reinforced passengers, the train to ... so wrong not from today but from Southern Cross Station." Troubled faces all around. Two minutes left until departure and now the information that the train leaves from somewhere else? Na class. But then it goes on: "... travelers drive. of track ... to Südkreuz before and get to there. "Which track? Train to where? "... Technical reasons". Aha. Everything looks helplessly. At least I had understood the direction and time-to-use campaign. I looked around for a timetable. Around this time should go into a train called the direction of the same track as the train to Budapest and actually hold in south cross. Two minutes later the same message. Direction and time fit, but not the track. One would have to ask someone. But is somewhat difficult. Imperial times, there were personnel at German railway stations. But since the story is Medorn. One wants to be AG, and in general is indeed now all better. The claim of the Spokesperson of the Bahn AG that they had because of the airspace closure now more staff at stations to cope with the influx changes nothing. So it's not only time to figure out from where the train will go to now.
The whole company will also have some time. Said the train goes in half an hour. So wait, maybe even something else arises. And, in fact. Shortly afterwards, the display changes to the track of the non-driven train to Budapest now announcing the train in the direction of Southern Cross. Well after all. Nothing more remains despite the announcement repeated every two minutes on the claim, the train was going from the adjacent track. Continue to contribute to the general confusion that at an international train, where yes, possibly, under very unfavorable circumstances, it is likely that foreign passengers standing on the track, made the announcement exclusively in German. Who uses the largest and most beautiful modern German railway station has to be, she also speak German. Eventually the train came to the south, or gene Südkreuz. Of course, all passengers had car sequence corresponding to the set up at the station to be near their cars. This of course interested in the Regional Express anybody. The man held the other end of the station. So on, bag and baggage, on the other end.
The train even had a conductor. Who made the "mistake" to enter the platform. He was the first that got you here as a representative of the Deutsche Bahn AG to face. Immediately he was assailed, whether this was probably the train, go to Budapest. Who looked as if struck by lightning. Probably just the evening's celebration was in danger, since it now takes to go to small towns to Budapest. In any case he knew of nothing. Meanwhile back the message, which insisted that one should take the train from the adjacent track which would leave the station in 1 minute. On the display there was to read that you expect in a train but you should enter under any circumstances, because this should end here. I was now Wurscht's. Apparently this was train to Southern Cross. Since it did not matter whether the adjacent track is now to leave a train or not. I tried to be some of the other passengers to help. Insofar as this the English were somewhat less powerful, it worked. Somehow, the conductor had been also found using phone, that this train should actually carry passengers to Budapest to Südkreuz. Then it started even. Stop at Potsdamer Platz, which prevent them rauszustürmen foreigners, now and then Südkreuz arrival. Luckily, the train is on the opposite track of the same platform. So only time the requests for the right car. But even this is ultimately managed. In past races have found that this train is not operated by the DB instead of the Czech Railways. So it can only get better. The sleeper had little to do with the comfort that done in the book that I had more extra worried for this schedule. "Murder on the Orient Express" seemed the right reading. The compartment was for up to three passengers. I had it on luck alone. It was with me a bag and a suitcase filled already to go. Although there was a "luggage rack" on the third floor. I have my suitcase balanced there high (nearly 30 pounds, not an easy exercise). However, it would fit into it so just because times and was not secured in contrast to the curves in Geruckel the train to fall off. I was also confused by the fact that those 30 pounds in his sleep slid right over my head back and forth. But then I decided to end the night without headaches prefer the suitcase and pulled back down. Now, although I had on the floor just so much space that I could even turn around myself. But I wanted to keep the compartment so no sleeping dance lessons, but to devote myself and the "Murder on the Orient Express." We were also very punctual in the morning in Budapest.
It took me some time to get rid of my luggage. I did not want to lug around all day with that stuff myself. The first time in Budapest. I've used the time to 19:00 clock, around the city to look at me. A city tour of approximately 2.5 hours. Then lunch in the sun. Still 4 hours time. So I started to have one of the many spas in this city. On the Statdrundfahrt we were on a passed which was not far away. For 1.5 hours in warm water to relax and take a short nap. Besides, still trying to figure out how it looks now with flights from Budapest or Bucharest. A flight for the next night from Bucharest to Cairo secured. I'm back in time at the station and the train leaves on time today as well. Clearly, not even the German Railways.
