Bongoyo Iceland

It was not so much to work during the Easter holidays. Here were the same holidays as us in Germany. Since we had to do anything to hang out in hotel rooms around, we decided to make at least a little trip. Since you have to get up too early to Zanzibar, which is more suitable for other colleagues as a problem for me, so we took a ferry to the nearby Bogoyo Iceland. Be reached in just over 30 minutes by ferry.

This is a small island north of Dar es Salaam, located in the Indian Ocean. A Marine Reserve. The tour costs about 15 euros round trip, with $ 5 admission fee in the Naval Reserve. The ferry is 11:30 clock. Not until you climb into a small boat that brings you to an actual ferry, which lies further out in deep water. One change and then two more tours of the small boat until the boat is full. Then it's about 20 minutes north. Then again the other way round. Some jump right off the ferry into the water and swim to the beach. Unfortunately, hardly possible with a backpack. bongoyo-boot

A few small umbrellas and a small "cottage". A couple of square meters of beach. That's all. For Easter Sunday, it is not really complete. Perhaps as 100 people drifting around here. Some play football. The rest goes swimming or lying in the sun. You can order right to eat. The prices are moderate. There are all sorts of fresh fish.

We then spend the rest of the day until the last ferry at about 17:00 clock goes back to the slipway, on this small island. The weather is nearly perfect. No excessive sunshine. From time to time clouds. Even a little rain around 16:00 clock. But before we get wet, we prefer to go into the water. After returning to the slipway and a small shower in the hotel we go again to the slipway. There, every Sunday evening "open-air disco" is. Many are native there. Very nice to end the day with a bottle of Mount Kilimanjaro.
