The Luwak, monkeys, and hot springs
After the dance spectacle we have our drive north continued. It went through a long street in which it was only gold-and silversmiths. Then a long road with wood carvers and furniture makers. Then there was a break at a temple. Of course with sightseeing and a little dance again. Then it went on. Again wood carver. Then picture painter. Then came the Luwok. The reader will remember, it is the animal that the coffee beans "processed". We have held on a coffee plantation. You could watch how coffee is roasted by hand. You could sleep at work digesting the Luwak, and watch and you could also find all sorts auspobieren coffees including Kopi Luwak. Left the cattle can be seen, has woken up after our driver shake it by the tree
This does not even have a cup of half of what it costs in Jakarta. In a small shop, you can also buy what we have tasted. It can also give up. Then the journey continued north to Mt Batur and its associated lake. The whole is in an old volcanic crater, which has formed the lake and from the new volcanic cone of Mt Batur rises. At the foot of the volcano there are hot springs. There you can swim. We have also done this. Admission is 3 × 50 000 Rupia. 50,000 for a towel, 50,000 for a welcome drink Convention, and 50,000 for a small food (a handful of rice and 5 satay sticks). All in all, therefore, so about 12 euros. The satay with rice you get a normal portion (10 sticks and rice man wants as much) for about 1 € else on every street corner. We said: We just want to swim! Towel we have, hunger and thirst, we do not have! He could not. All or nothing was the answer. Oh well. Once hot springs for 12 €. When we were drinne Gerde, it started to pour with rain. But did not matter, we were wet anyway. If you were in the pool, it was like Forrest Gump. The rain came from above, from left, right and even upside down. After the hot spring and the warm rain, it went a different route back to the south. We have looked at a few rice fields near Ubud and then visited the monkeys in the monkey forest in Ubud.
This is a Tempelanlange in Ubud where a large horde of monkeys (or band?) Lives. Because they are holy in this place are very friendly, if not intrusive. You are cautioned not to feed the monkeys. We came here in the rain. This little monkey was first seen. Which had been squashed and the rain. We sat under an umbrella on the edge of the Monkey Forest. On the roof of the opposite house you could see a few of them do gymnastics (see photo). Then a car stopped beside us and threw something edible out of the window. It was not long until the first came on the road. Then they sat down to us under the roof. But they were pretty peaceful. It is there already have happened differently. If something is edible and it has nothing gives off, it can happen that it is hollow, the monkeys. Sometimes everything else that is not riveting and hard nail. After a while we are so frolic with the monkeys, we went off back home. At the evening dinner. This time at a slightly better place. A couple of games and billiards on the way home after another break at the Hard Rock Cafe Bali. Failed .... somewhat expensive drinks, good music and a Long Iceland Ice tea was not even the headaches.
