A good example is one of the pictures below. It is a GPS clock, which is used in order to provide for a variety of servers and other equipment an exact time. The Clock is by receiving GPS signals automatically placed exactly on the 1/100 second. As I said, this is in Africa. The photo was taken on Tuesday 17 April 2007, 13:28:44 GMT. The time displayed is also GMT. The deviation is slightly more than 7 years!
Another example of this happened to me on the weekend. Hartmann (young man in the photo below right), a colleague of MTN (Ivorian mobile phone provider), offered us something to show on the evening of nightlife. "Rue du Prince" was all over the world, famous for its bars, pubs and excellent live music. Good idea, I thought. About 20.30 clock on Saturday he called me then. He'd abhohlen at 21.30 clock. I now sat in the bar and listened to the nightly live music. By the way, pretty much the only thing here corresponds to half the price level. Another guest and I arrived with the musicians this week and they offered us to take a train through the bars with us. I said that I could not, unfortunately, because I would be picked up within minutes of been someone else. Maybe next Saturday. It was now 21.30 clock. No trace of Hartmann. Well, just African time. They asked me again if I wanted to go. I again said, no, I already agreed. What they did was on the way. 21:45 still nothing to be seen by Hartmann. I'll call him and ask if he was on his way. He said, no, do not come with James so he decided we do not go. I just said yes Would you narufen times.
The next day I met the other guests told us me that it was great. Well thank you! Around noon the phone again. Hartmann! I pick you up at 15.30 hollow. We, along with James, watching the city and a little stroll through markets. Good idea, I thought again. Well, the reader will know how it ends. 15.30 Neither clock nor any trace of when a hard man.
Monday morning. Hartmann comes right up to me and says Hau me! The car was broken! The most popular excuse since there are cars! I said, I believe him not, but it's ok. Africa indicated.
For the rest of these Hartmann has very many other things proved to be extremely useful colleague. Whenever something to organize, get to improvise, is that Hartmann is the man for that!
