From search and find
The issue today is not the time for me, was unpopular regulations but rather about finding their way in a strange city. Find a map of Taipei was not difficult. To find one in which there are at least occasionally, in addition to Chinese English words more difficult. But that's only part of the orientation problem. If you have found the street name on the card, you must then find the appropriate street signs. It took me a while. As Central Europeans are looking for these on street corners or walls of buildings. There was, however, find nothing. I was fairly desperate. Until then my eyes fell by chance on a traffic light, which was highly appropriate for the cars on the road before the crossing. Hooray! There was a street sign. At the pedestrian has here obviously thought of yet none. Well, this is how it goes. If only a little awkward when you run into on the street corner just a piece in the street must find out what street you are at.
The road system itself is structured logically and reasonably similar to the example of New York. The roads in east-west direction have two names. In addition to the actual (as has often called the Xinyi Road), they are also called Boulevard and are simply numbered. The roads in north-south direction have only their names but are divided into North and South Road. The center is the Civic Boulevard.
All roads will be again divided into sections. These are counted in the east-west direction or starting from the Civic Boulevard to the north or the south. If it is once found out, it is not so difficult to find its target.
Moreover, there is one in Taipei, the entire city center wireless network abdeckendes. WiFly called. As far as I could, which is actually easily available throughout the city. Unfortunately I was not possible to use it. The registration pages are maintained consistently in Chinese. I'm going with this picture writing, unfortunately, still not clear.
Similar problems created here by the way, the understanding. English is here, except in the business sector, hardly speaking. The agreement is not as easy as in Indonesia, Malaysia or Singapore. Even in a Starbucks cafe does not speak any English service. This can be particularly difficult when the whole day in the city is on the way and then get hungry. Illustrated if you're lucky, you'll find a shop where the menu is. Since one can then show you what you want to eat. But what still does not tell you is what is contained in the soup, except noodles. Well, somehow I managed it without starving to make ends meet. Can also be advantageous if you have a stomach, the so tolerates almost anything.
