Yesterday evening I was traveling with two colleagues from Vienna. We wanted to see the Petronas Towers, once from above. As mentioned above? The highest twin towers in the world from above? Yes it can. From the second-tallest building in the city, the TV tower, you can look down on the tower. Sounds kind of stupid mathematically, but is possible. Why, I'll tell later.
So we are gone off of Hotel, only have once again taken the Komuter to the central station and then switch to another line. Is something similar like the Berlin U-Bahn, so sometimes the top and below ground. Putra LRT is called. There is only one small difference: this train runs leaderless. Moreover, the Monorail and the Aero Train at the airport. Yes, yes! Germany's largest technology company, take note!
So what does! So we have this Putra LRT KLCC and direction (Kuala Lumpur City Centre) is run. But not quite up, but got off two stops before (Dang Wangi). From the train station out there was at first a magnificent view of the Twin Towers and the TV tower. Then we tried to get to the TV tower. Was not that easy. Finally, we have found the way. A lot of stairs, a few liters of sweat less (95% humidity, 32 degrees Celsius) and a rapid drive to lift it was probably the best view of the city. The shooting turned out to be a little difficult. There is a viewing platform over the entire area where you can not just put up a small mini tripod to get to the night shots. So you need a little ingenuity and an extremely steady hand. Well, I got it at least gets executed. Back downstairs, we were hungry. So we tried to feed something. Downtown KL is not really a problem. An open-air restaurant next to the other. We are so pure in one and have ordered. Was on the menu: with lots of garlic. That's right! It's can still smell
No sooner was the food on the table, it started to rain. As I said, we sat outside. The operation has tried to iron things out and umbrellas set up. That was after about 2 minutes, even worthless. It was pelting down with cans. We then switched to the more generous roofed bar and have eaten there are the. The service has kept us on the way the sun shields. Nevertheless, the beer is then tasted a little thinner. Since it was raining so hard, nothing remains to us no alternative but to await the end with the help of a few beers.
Oh, why you see the tower from the top of a smaller building? The TV tower stands on a hill.

Everyone knows surely the debate in Germany about the far too frequent holidays. This affects all know, the German economy in particular. There are already brilliant politicians come up with the idea that the national is no longer on 3 To be held in October, but as always on 1 Sunday in October. This saves one a day. The many days off we can not compete with Asian competitors.
Now I have found a calendar with the holidays in Malaysia. Not only that, there are very many of them, no! For each of the official holiday falls on a Sunday (2006 eg New Year) there is an extra day free. The Malays come to 24 public holidays per year, which averages almost every second Weeks, an additional day off. The logic of our political and economic leadership following, we will soon have the most hopelessly left behind.
I was in Jakarta at the weekend. Is not far from here and there I had to visit someone in person. Flight time is about 2 hours. Return flight at just over 100 €. Can you do so. This time I'm on public transport to the airport and driven back. Went wonderfully. The hotel is situated, as I have already written, in Mid Valley. Directly at the same station. The railway lines are called Komuter and are comparable to the Berlin S-Bahn. Only a little cleaner. You drive a station to station Sentral, which is the central railway station, and then moves to the KLIA Express (Kuala Lumpur International Airport Express). This is a very practical device. When one Malaysian Airlines, you can check here at the station. On the return flight can be taken here against his luggage. For all other airlines, it is just a quick airport access road. For just over 10 € you get comfortable, quick and without congestion airport.
The real experience I had, but on the return trip. From plane through passport control and customs so everything is fairly straightforward. Then the train. No problem. It can be seen everywhere in the airport, how much time you have had, goes to the next train. So one knows whether they have or do not run. I was lucky. It has to rush without, fit the bill perfectly. Barely on the platform, the train came. Then, towards Central Station. Then change to the Komuter. Now the problems start. First time to find out what line should I take since. In the other direction, it was easy, because there was only one. Looking for a bit I got it. So grab the bar and slid the ticket into the machine. Smart as I am, I had the same ticket for round-trip ticket purchased. Tröööööt! No admittance! Well, was just on Friday and now Sunday. This applies only to the same day. So to the vending machine and buy a new ticket. Cost is € 0.30, so to get over. Then through the gate and down the escalator. Here is the next practical device. A display panel on the platform indicates when the next train in the desired direction. The inscription is in Malay, so not to be interpreted immediately. Because what was of 5.36. Could also mean something like 5 ½ minutes. The platform was deserted, not to say I was alone. Shortly after eleven. Well, you need not fear. On every platform there is an area with rows of chairs and a TV before. So, you can also sell the few minutes. Worse than the superstars on German television Kann indeed are not. After a few minutes indicated that stupid board is still 5.36 and I was still alone on the platform. Slowly it dawned on me that this was 5:36 something like an absolute time specification. Which means: "Today, no train". Oh great. World City shortly after 11 Since then come back memories of the Berlin S-Bahn. Timetable sought and actually, the last train left 5 minutes before my arrival. Now I'm sure I can not be far away from Berlin. Oh well. Do I just get out and take a taxi. So back to the ticket barrier and slid into the slot. Trööööt! Do not pass. Well, sort of bad luck. The ticket is valid only for output at the destination station and that is not here. What to do? Follow the tracks to the station on foot Mid Valley? Naja. Stay at the station? It's clean, there are television and is warm. But it is still not really enticing. Climb over the barrier? No idea where you have to stay overnight. I was looking for someone to help me, but at the platform and the Surrounding tickets and keeper's house was nobody around. Finally, I saw someone from the staff but desperate to hang around the bar. The read me a short apology out of my hand. I then searched the taxi rank and also found relatively quickly. Jump into the first taxi and said, "please Boulevard Hotel". The answer: "Do you have a coupon?". I must have looked a bit silly have. The driver then said, if I give him 10 ringgit, you go that way. Yet to find a taxi counter, I was a bit too goofy. It is common here, in fact, not to pay the taxi. You buy a coupon at taxi counters. It certainly has some advantages, such as then degenerates into a taxi ride is not a city tour. Anyway, 10 minutes later I was in the hotel room. Was almost at the station: Clean, with television, but cool.
So, the first working day is over. Have not had time to look around in the city. But the first impression is, as I've written, not bad. Although it is a lot of traffic on the roads, but not nearly as chaotic as in Jakarta. Otherwise makes the city a much cleaner appearance. However, I also had this again the same experience as in Indonesia: no electricity. This time the cause is probably different. Somehow is a part of the power supply on the long road from here to Germany lost. Could be that I again have some free time here. Well, just about enough for today. The jet lag a little exhausting. I'm pretty tired. So, until the days.
This time I'm not in Indonesia but in Malaysia. But since this is "next door" and know a lot already this BLOG. I just sit here on. I arrived yesterday evening in Kuala Lumpur. It takes some time from the airport into the city. Those are just about 50 km. The people in the office wrote to me that I should take a taxi. This has subsequently proved to be but not so bright idea. There is an express train every 15 minutes to Central Station, Kuala Lumpur and as I found on arrival at the hotel provided, this is right outside the hotel. That would have been a lot of time can save time and money.
Otherwise, the first impression is very good. Everything not as chaotic as in Jakarta. The hotel is brand new and located in the city center (Mid Valley). Not far from the Petronas Twin Towers. So now I have to work. Tomorrow there's more.
So! Only now is a break in the blog. I am flying today back to D-land. Here in Indonesia, one wishes that I return in mid-November. As the Berlin see, I do not Nocht. I would quite like to have come back. Wenns blog continues, it will find them all. See you soon.
My friend Micah will think again, "writes the always over eat," but I have to get rid of anyway. Ramadan has some interesting side effects. I had already written that many of the Warangs ("fast food") during this period are closed during the day. But this is like everything else. In the first week are all busy. Then the leaves a bit to. In the fourth week, then almost everything as always. Ramadan is nearing the end and "Idul Fitri" seam. This is one of the most important holidays in Islam. Just as is done here in Indonesia, it is somewhat similar to our Christmas party. The families come together. It will be distributed gifts. The consumerism is, I think even a little worse than ours. Everyone who goes outside the house for the occasion, be it to visit the mosque or to the neighbors, it must clothe itself again. Appropriately, the prices for the traditional dress in the appropriate time by up to 300%. Generously given way but pretty much every dealer willing to 20% discount. Since many people travel from Jakarta as home to their families, happens to the tickets for buses, trains and planes about the same. If you get any at all. All roads from Jakarta are hopelessly overcrowded. This is similar to the holiday traffic jams on German roads. Here, however, it may well happen that the road blocked only by thousands of motorcycles. It is pleasant: In Jakarta, the streets are empty then really nice.
What does this have to do with the title? It can happen that the food tastes a little funny in the day, because the cook fast. Taste is nich. Since Allah is in front.
