A hint of frustration and Singapore
Am now in Batam. This is an island just across from Singapore. There are only 20 km. The Straits of Singapore. About. 30 minutes by ferry.
Batam is slightly different from Indonesia that I have ever met. Even the airport makes it a much different impression. It is cleaner and more modern. The streets are cleaner and the air is better. The architecture is also quite interesting and different from what I've seen here so far. New buildings are very colorful and look really interesting. There are many really beautiful residences.
But unfortunately there are a few things that make a bit of frustration. The one here with times can not accept as accurate, because I had been used to slow. If someone tells me that tomorrow I get the power I need for my work, I know that does not mean more than that now I get no power. Tomorrow does not mean something like: "The next day". That means only "Sometime, but not sure now." Since Tuesday, the answer is already now: tomorrow. That would be bearable if the rest would not. The hotel has become bearable only after lengthy negotiations with the staff and room change. The shop is called the way, "Nagoya Plaza." Sounds like somehow "Nakatomi Plaza"
Moreover, it is not so simple, the time that I have indeed lack of employment opportunity, meaningful herumzukriegen. After Singapore, I can not unfortunately. In other words, to Singapore, I could have. But unfortunately I'm back with my visa again.
The other recreational opportunities are somewhat limited. Nagoya is described on the Internet as the district with the best "Night Life" in the area. "Singapore's Playground" and the like can be found here. I have looked at the site , picked up some tips and gone off. The locations are described in detail. Also how to get there since. By stating that the dark side streets to avoid more and stay on main roads. Too bad that the described bars, pubs and nightclubs are all somehow in dark side streets. Well, I not a sailor and moved so well through the dark streets. I was the only "bule" (white) far and wide. As far as one can see in the dark ;) All I have some native looked puzzled. But that was not the real problem. The problem was that because of "Ramadan" what was going nowhere. Maybe yes and why's it so dark. I was even in the most expensive hotel in town with a famous nightclub. Fiddlesticks. Everything! I then landed back in the hotel bar. Evening entertainment with home organ sound. Would actually be a criminal offense. But here at least funzt Internet.
Well, I hope the morning, it current!
